Winter semester!

A Music for Aardvarks class offers an exciting interactive musical experience for parents and children ages 4 months to 4 years. Song, dance and rhythm combine for a rockin' good time. It's a foot stomping, jingle shaking, drum drumming hullabaloo both kids and parents will love!

The program

Our informal, spirited classes are geared toward children 4 months to 4 years old and incorporate singing, dancing, musical storytelling, instrumental jam sessions and more. It's an interactive musical experience that the whole family can genuinely get excited about!
The New York Times described David Weinstone's songs as "The exception to the norm". In a world where most children's songs are about things like farm animals and locomotives that everyone has heard before Music for Aardvarks classes are more like parties.

Sundays in Bayside: Our new Bayside semester begins January 8th and runs through March 25th. There will be no classes on Feb 19th. Classes meet at AchieveAbility OT, 42-23 Francis Lewis Blvd. Bayside, NY 11361.

Tuesdays in Port Washington: Our Port Washington semester begins January 3rd and runs through March 27th. There will be no classes on Feb 21st. Classes meet at Temple Beth Israel, located at 1 Temple Drive, Port Washington, NY 11050.

Wednesdays in Great Neck: Our Great Neck semester begins January 4th and runs through March 28th. There will be no classes on Feb 22nd. Classes meet at Temple Beth El of Great Neck, 5 Old Mill Rd, Great Neck NY, 11023.

Wednesday afternoons in Huntington: Our Huntington semester begins January 4th and runs through March 21st. There will be no class on Feb 22nd. Classes meet at From Stage to Screen, 589 West Jericho Turnpike, Huntington NY, 11743.

Thursday classes: In addition to our regular semester we are excited to offer Thursday classes at the Sid Jacobson JCC in Roslyn, NY. Classs begin on January 5th. All Thursday classes meet at the Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center, 300 Forest Drive, East Hills, NY 11548.

An important note about this winter's registration:

Registration for the Thursday classes held in Roslyn NY is done through the Sid Jacobson JCC website. Parents who are interested in finding out more or registering for Thursday classes may do so by following this LINK. Registration for our Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday classes can be done by following the link below.

Class policies

Expectations for grown-ups

We love to make music with your children, but we need your help! We need you as parents and caregivers to be your children's role models. If they see you bopping along, singing, dancing and playing instruments, they'll want to do the same. If they see you chatting on a cellphone or to your neighbor, they won't understand how important it is to participate. The more that you put into our classes, the more you and your child will get out of them. We are definitely not the "sit back and let us entertain your child" kind of place. And just a reminder, grown ups are responsible for the safety of their children during our classes.

Makeups

Bayside, Port Washington and Great Neck: Each family is permitted two makeup classes per semester. A makeup must be scheduled with the teacher and the exact time will be dependent upon space available.

Huntington: There will be a single make up class offered on March 28th for anyone who missed a class during the regular semester.

Refunds

Tuition fees are fully refundable before the first class of the semester begins. 50% of tuition fees will be refunded if cancellation occurs within the first two weeks of the semester. No refunds will be issued after two weeks.

Visitor policy

Adult family and visitors are always welcome. Registered families wishing to bring a child as a guest may do so for 50% of the regular class fee. All child guests must be scheduled in advance and may only attend if room allows. Babies under 6 months may always attend with an older registered sibling at no charge.

Long Island Aardvarks reserves the right to send emails and brochures pertaining to Long Island Aardvarks business only. We will never share our customers data with outside parties.
